Late last year we invited folk to book an Encouragement Session to start their 2024 with a dose of energy and enthusiasm. So far, there have been twenty-two Sessions.
We have a handful of Sessions opening up in April. We would love to offer you a burst of positive energy to boost your creative month.
We have slots available on the following dates (and although we are based in France, we can accommodate time differences): 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th and 18th of April.
How do we book one?
Send an e-mail to feastsandfables at gmail dot com.
What does it involve?
Jump on a Zoom call with Mr Fables, an upbeat, enthusiastic soul with a whole bunch of life and ‘world of work’ experience. Expect to drink from the glass marked ‘half full’.
Can you tell me a little more?
Read this post - it is all in there … but ask any questions you like in your e-mail.
We have had a great reaction to the sessions we have hosted in 2024 (there have been nearly 200 of these Sessions in the past three-and-a-bit years so we have a good sense of what is needed. We’re so pleased to have been able to host conversations about creativity and the journeys people are on.
What we talk about stays between us and the folk on the call, but there are always general points we like to share to encourage others.
A Handful of Encouragement
You don’t need to wait for someone to allow you to do that thing that brings you joy. Give yourself permission.
Find a community that celebrates creativity - not everyone understands the path you are on. Find the people who do.
You are allowed to not do things too.
Knowing and stating your values helps the right folk find you … and they are a great filter for you to find the right people.
Listen to the voices that celebrate what you do. Let the waves of support drown out any foghorns of disapproval.
Not every target has to be HUGE. Slowly, slowly. Set yourself a tiny goal.
Make time for your creative practice. However busy life gets, ring-fence time for you and your writing/ art/ photography/ making/ seeking inspiration. We are all allowed some ‘me time’.
Celebrate the folk who inspire you. Guide them to your creativity.
When life seems to be rushing away with you, put your foot on the ball. Put the ‘to do’ list in a drawer and take a stroll, read a book, sit under a tree. The ‘to dos’ will be there later, but you’ll be re-energised by the change of pace.
Love what you do … do what you love.
"Encouragement is a superpower we all possess..." and one we should certainly use more, especially in such difficult times. Thanks for your posts' encouraging words!
I’d love so much to take part but will have to wait until (if) you offer another round. I’m booked in for surgery on the 19th and have no days free before then!
