Thanks, Andrew. I think I end up talking about No 1 in every call. Mm, maybe I'm on a mission! Hope you're well. I connected with a photographer (Andy Adams @flakphoto) whose Substack looks like one you'd relish. B
Yes I have had numerous interactions and email exchanges with Andy Adams (he's a big fan of Saul Leiter and kindly mentioned me on his Substack about him).
Hope things are going well with you guys. I peak into Twitter now and again but not sorry I've left it behind. Feel comfortable in the world of Mastodon and it's overall envelope of encouragement and support. All good with me and becoming acclimatised again to the chilly northeast
Lovely to hear from you, Harry. We're great, thank you. Just stirring after a month with my mum here when we dialled back the jobs and focused on 'wintering'. Back in the garden now, piecing things together slowly, making it up as we go along. It's bitingly cold here today, I can only imagine what the North East is like. Stay well. B
Not so bad Barrie, had some snow but it hasn't stopped me getting out and about for Riverside walks (keeping myself fit for the London Walk in March). Plus restaurant going, cinema trips, a bit of theatre and next month I'm off to see Phil Rosenthal (he of 'Somebody feed Phil' on Netflix) at the Tyne Theatre. Take care
Missing you over on Twitter Harry. It's quieter as a few other have also fled. I occasionally have a look on Mastodon but it hasn't quite grabbed me yet.
It is a different interaction and definitely not for everyone. For example Barrie's interaction with followers wouldn't lend itself to Mastadon. I enjoy it because there are no algorithms so you need to stay more engaged and interact. Also, while you can boost to share further, you can't add to another's post. Any form of abuse or harassment is blocked quickly and as required useres/servers disconnected so it's a much safer environment for a wider diversity of people. There's also not the constant bombardment of advertisements or, 'we' thought you might like to follow this person. At my last glance on Twitter I have several new followers despite not posting for some time. They are all females who seem keen to know me better....
Always learning, and better encouragers you become for it, I am sure.
Thank you.
Nine very good learnings. They are all wise, but Point 1 is extra wise.

I should have spotted that!
